WATERCOLOUR PORCELAIN
This technique involves using water soluble forms of metals. The metals are made water soluble by breaking them down with nitric and hydrochloric acid to form chlorides and nitrates which dissolve in water. The metals used on these posts include, Nickel, Copper, Cobalt, Iron, Silver and Gold.
Various techniques such as resist, sponging and brush stroking are used to apply the salts to both unglazed and bisqued fried to 1300 C in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. These are ten polished with wet and dry sandpaper.
